Lacan on French television, answering questions put to him by Jacques-Alain Miller, in two parts broadcast in March 1974.
Commissioned for the ORTF series Un certain regard and directed by Benoît Jacquot, this is Lacan addressing a general audience while refusing to simplify. The text was published as Télévision, and in English as Television: A Challenge to the Psychoanalytic Establishment. It opens with the line about always speaking the truth and never all of it, which is as good a summary of the difficulty as anything.
