Black Swan
A ballerina cast in Swan Lake comes apart under the demand to be perfect and the double she begins to see everywhere.
Darren Aronofsky follows Nina, a technically flawless but frightened dancer given the lead in Swan Lake, as the pressure to embody the black swan pushes her toward a psychotic break.
The film works through splitting, the persecutory double, and a suffocating bond with a mother who lives through her daughter's body. Natalie Portman won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
