Fight Club
A sleepless office worker and a charismatic soap salesman start an underground fight club that grows into a movement, until the narrator learns who Tyler really is.
Academy Award Best Sound Effects Editing 2000 nominee
An unnamed, insomniac office worker, numb and adrift, falls in with the magnetic Tyler Durden, and together they found a bare-knuckle fight club that swells into an anarchist project against consumer life. The narrator's grip on events loosens until he discovers the true nature of his bond with Tyler.
For clinical readers the film dramatises dissociation and the splitting off of an idealised ego, projection, and the figure of the double, set against a broader unease about masculinity and self-destruction. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Sound Effects Editing in 2000 and is based on the novel Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk.
