The Psychologization of Islamophobia
, Online, The Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis
The critical psychologist Robert K Beshara examines how Islamophobia gets recast as a private psychological matter, and reads that move through Lacan's discourse of the university. Bringing in Said, Dussel and Mignolo, he argues for a decolonial psychoanalysis that keeps the political and historical in view. The talk draws on his book on critical Islamophobia studies.
