On Language and Embodiment in the Makings of Gender: a talk by Dany Nobus
, In person, The Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis
Dany Nobus asks how gender is made, and whether we still need it. Treating gender as a knot of lived experience and socio-cultural convention, he questions its standing as a source of self-knowledge, engages Paul Preciado's challenge to psychoanalytic binaries, and follows the thought experiment of giving up the concept altogether to see what would remain of identity.
