Leon Brenner: "Navigating Transference in Psychosis"

, In person, The Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis

This event has taken place.

Leon Brenner reconsiders how transference works when the patient is psychotic. Rather than treating it as a weaker version of the neurotic case, he approaches psychotic transference as a distinct clinical configuration with its own logic and its own risks. Drawing on Freudian and Lacanian thought, the lecture looks closely at how the analyst positions themselves and holds a workable distance.
