Freud’s Afternoon Session – Greek Myths for a Post-truth World
, In person, Freud Museum London
Yiannis Gabriel argues that Greek myths still do useful work: as sources of meaning when meaning has become precarious, and as a way of thinking about degradation of the environment, migration, inequality and authoritarian politics. He invites the audience to inhabit the old texts rather than interpret them from outside. For clinicians drawn to what narrative and symbol carry that argument does not.
