Birth and Psychoanalysis
, In person, The Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis
A round table on Ruth Kara-Ivanov Kaniel's book bringing birth into a conversation usually organised around death. Where much Western thought fixes on mortality, the discussion follows birth as a figure across religion, art and philosophy, drawing on Jewish sources, and lingers on the maternal, the womb and what one speaker calls the Bionian no-thing.
